Star wrestler Vinesh Phogat suggested that former Indian cricketer Sourav Ganguly should come to Jantar Mantar in Delhi as an athlete to understand the ongoing protest of top wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. The wrestlers are seeking Singh’s arrest and resignation as WFI president. Despite Delhi Police’s filing of two FIRs in the matter, the protest continued. Ganguly expressed hope that the issue will be resolved soon and acknowledged that wrestlers have brought many accolades to India. However, he declined to offer an opinion on the matter citing a lack of complete knowledge. The wrestlers will take out a candle march against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh as a part of their protest while discussing their next course of action with their legal team.
