Illann Power, a company director and entrepreneur from Co Carlow, has pleaded not guilty to charges of filing false information with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) between 2014 and 2017. The charges were brought against him following an investigation by the Corporate Enforcement Authority (CEA). Initially, Power had entered a guilty plea to one charge of being reckless in filing an annual return for the financial year 2014/2015. However, he later withdrew the guilty plea, claiming that he wished to clear his name. Prosecution counsel Eoin Lawlor objected to Mr Power’s request to change his plea, but the judge acceded to it in the interests of justice. The case was adjourned until May 30th to allocate a hearing date.
