Recently, several flavors of Tine iced coffee and chocolate milk have been pulled from the shelves of grocery stores in several parts of the country.
On online stores such as Oda and Menu some of the flavors are also temporarily sold out.
On Saturday afternoon, Dagbladet’s reporter went to the grocery store Spar at Hasle in Oslo. Several of the flavors of the popular Tine product were sold out, including the “Coffee Latte” variant.
According to an employee in the store, they get weekly refills of the product, but several of the most popular flavors are quickly sold out.
Requires emergency measures
– Good in the wind
They have also noticed in Tine that demand from consumers has skyrocketed in recent years, especially in 2022 when sales of Tine products broke new records.
– Tine Iskaffe is really in the air and is becoming increasingly popular. Flavored milk, such as iced coffee and chocolate milk, has never sold more in Norway than last year, and Kari and Ola drink almost twice as much flavored milk today as ten years ago, writes Tine’s press officer, Unni P. Christensen, in a e-mail to Dagbladet.
It was a newspaper Glomdalen who first mentioned the matter.
Not enough
If you cannot find your favorite on the shelves in the store, it does not mean that the item is out of production, the press officer in Tine can state.
– Tine produces what we can, but there are simply such high volumes at Tine iced coffee that we are unable to produce enough, writes Christensen.
– Violates the regulations
During spring, you therefore have to be patient if you do not immediately find your favorite flavor on the store shelf.
– It will probably take until the summer before we are able to meet the demand. Fortunately, we have many other varieties of Tine Iskaffe, both with and without added sugar, which will be available in stores for iced coffee-loving Norwegians, says the press officer.
