Social media users did not fail to comment on the hat of Royal Princess Anne, which obscured Prince Harry’s view during the coronation ceremony of his father, King Charles, today, Saturday, in Westminster Abbey.
And the British newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that viewers around the world were quick to capture the funny moments from the dazzling celebration at Westminster Abbey this morning.
The newspaper added that among those shots came the huge hat worn by the Royal Princess, which seemed to obscure the vision of Prince Harry, who sat behind her during the coronation ceremony.
According to the newspaper, many speculated whether this move was deliberate to “punish” the Duke of Sussex, who was outspoken in his criticism of the royal family in his autobiography “Spear” or “The Reserve” and the documentary series that was recently shown by the “Netflix” platform.
Others compared this moment to another in which Harry’s wife, Megan, was obscured by a giant candle during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral last year.
One Twitter user tweeted: “Funny how Harry gets stuck sitting behind Anne who wears a giant hat with a feather as part of her costume. No room for Harry to see.”
Another added: “Princess Anne’s hat with that long feather is the candle of the year.”
The duke was seated between Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, and Princess Alexandra, the late queen’s cousin, who has not been a working royal in 10 years.
They are joined by Prince Edward’s two daughters, Eugenie, 33, and Beatrice, 34, and her husband, Eduardo Mapelli Mozzi.
Only working royals sat in the front row of the historic celebration, which included Prince William and Princess Catherine of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh – Edward and Sophie – and their children Lady Louis and James, Earl of Wessex, as well as Anne and her husband Sir Tim Lawrence.
Also in attendance was young Prince Louis, the star of the Platinum Jubilee, when he stole hearts with his antics on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
