The Economic Affairs and Money Laundering Prosecution has set a date on May 17 to resume the trial of Mortada Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zamalek Club, on his accusation of insulting and slandering Al-Ahly Club President Mahmoud Al-Khatib, Mohamed Siraj, a member of the Board of Directors and legal advisor to Al-Ahly, lawyer Mohamed Othman, and the journalist Ahmed Schubert.
This came after Mortada Mansour’s request to dismiss the Economic Court, headed by Chancellor Ahmed Khaled Al-Shayeb, was rejected.
The second circuit of appeal in the Economic Court had rejected Mortada Mansour’s request to dismiss the court panel, headed by Counselor Ahmed Khaled, in the case of accusing him of libel and defamation, so that the date prior to resuming the trial would be determined.
It is noteworthy that Mortada Mansour had served a one-month prison sentence for being accused of insulting and slandering Mahmoud Al-Khatib, President of Al-Ahly Club.
