In April, it was three years since Aleš Háma, who is celebrating his fifties, had to cope with the loss of his mother, Drahomíra Hámová. She lived to be 73 years old. Mom’s death came suddenly and it was a huge blow for him. He opened up a very sensitive topic in an interview for Blesk, where he talked about what it was like to entertain people despite great sadness.
Not even time heals some wounds. This is especially true when you lose a loved one. Aleš Háma, who is celebrating his fiftieth birthday without her on May 6, knows his stuff about it, and he also remembers his mother on your Instagram. He had sadness in his soul, yet he had to go entertain the audience and pretend nothing was happening. In an interview for Blesk, he talked about the details of how he experienced these moments.
“Three years ago, during the covid period, my mom died. It was very difficult for all of us, she brought us up to music, we owe her a lot. Well, suddenly you just have two days until the funeral and you have to cheerfully go and moderate Távár,” explains the moderator in the interview.
His mom died and he’s playing pranks
The all-rounder Aleš Hám disguised the sadness perfectly. Most would not even recognize what they are going through. Unfortunately, in a difficult situation, he had no choice but to keep his funny face. “You just have to somehow process it in yourself and go. Well, and then you go out for a cigar, and there you feel it again, you feel sad, a tear flows. Then wipe it off and go back into that barrack again.” describes his condition.
He kept his face perfectly, no doubt about it. But even that caused all kinds of reactions. “It was even ripe for criticism like: Dude, his mom died and he’s doing pranks like this?” described the reactions of the surroundings. But he himself admits that his well-known and always cheerful face is binding and he certainly would not want to appear as an obnoxious and arrogant moron.
The versatile Aleš Háma
Aleš never specialized in just one branch of art. “I like to do whatever comes my way. I don’t choose, I take what comes and I’m very lucky in life. I have many nice opportunities and I can enjoy them,” he commented on his activities for eXtra.cz. You can find the interview with Äleš in the embedded video.
Aleš is still bursting with energy and is in great shape. What is behind it? “Walking is important to me. I try to walk at least six kilometers every day. Then I go to the theater or work in the garden. I always think that if people pedaling in the gym on the exercise bike generated electricity, that would be a godsend,” Háma told us.
