The players of the French rugby team Catalans Dragons experienced a little more intense physical preparation for the match on Friday than they expected. They had to run from the bull right on the field.
The club from Perpignan hosted the reigning Super League champion, the English team St. Helens and part of the pre-match program was also a performance where three bulls presented themselves on the pitch. One of them, despite the tamer’s efforts, broke free and ran onto the lawn, where the “dragons” players in traditional red jerseys were already warming up.
They didn’t have time to think about the scientific studies that confirmed that bulls are color blind and the color red doesn’t irritate them, and they ran away. Fortunately, the bull only ran a little and did not physically attack anyone.
The match took place according to plan and the moment probably gave the home players the necessary adrenaline, they defeated the favored opponent 24:12. “The warm-up of the Catalans Dragons players was a bit spicy today,” the Super League management tried to lighten the situation.
