Berlin Court Allows Display of Ukrainian Flags on Memorial Sites

The Administrative Court of Berlin lifted the ban on displaying Ukrainian flags on memorials in the Treptow, Tiergarten and Schoenholzer Heide districts, which was previously introduced by the police.

According to the court decision, the decision of the Berlin police to ban the flags of the Russian Federation and Ukraine is illegal due to the fact that they did not provide any evidence that public safety was at risk.

St. George ribbons, the wearing of a military uniform or its individual elements, as well as the performance of military songs are also prohibited. The Berlin police have the right to appeal the decision of the administrative court to the Higher Administrative Court of Berlin-Brandenburg.
