Sources for Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath channels confirmed that negotiations between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces will begin tomorrow, Saturday, in the Saudi city of Jeddah.
The sources said that the delegations of the army and the Rapid Support Forces left for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to start the negotiations, which are conducted by a Saudi-American.
She added that the army delegation includes 3 officers and an ambassador, while the Rapid Support Forces delegation includes 3 officers.
In a related context, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received today a phone call from his American counterpart, Anthony Blinken, during which they discussed the events in Sudan.
According to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Blinken stressed the importance of stopping the military escalation in Sudan.
The two ministers reviewed developments in the Saudi-American initiative to host representatives of the two parties in Jeddah, which aims to prepare the necessary ground for dialogue to reduce the level of tensions there, in a way that guarantees the security and stability of Sudan and its brotherly people.
Khartoum is witnessing intermittent clashes, despite the two parties to the conflict announcing the extension of the armistice for 72 hours.
With the continuation of these confrontations, several international parties are trying to move in order to put pressure on the two parties to the conflict to negotiate.
