Ebba Årsjö has been awarded as female athlete of the year.
– It feels great fun, of course. It’s the best price you can get, she tells TT.
The 22-year-old alpine star was celebrated for his achievements in the 2021-2022 sports year during the Parasport Gala.
Last year, Årsjö had her big breakthrough by taking two golds and a bronze in the 2022 Paralympics in Beijing. She then won two more golds in the WC that same year.
After the breakthrough, Årsjö’s dominance has continued – she recently won four WC golds, in four different disciplines; super-G, super combination, giant slalom and slalom, during the WC in Espot, Spain. In addition, she won the World Cup overall slalom cup last season.
At the gala, cross-country skier Zebastian Modin, 28, was also named male athlete of the year. In Beijing, in his fourth Paralympics, he won a silver and two bronze. Modin has medaled in all four Games he has participated in (four silver and four bronze). Which makes him Sweden’s foremost Winter Paralympian ever.
