Olivier Primeau made a name for himself in 2015 thanks to the acquisition with his brother and his father of the Beachclub. Since then, great international artists have walked the boards of this renowned club, located in Pointe-Calumet. This week, his condo in Laval was the target of gunfire and one of his restaurants in Sainte-Thérèse was targeted by a Molotov cocktail attack. Here are some of the entrepreneur’s successes…and some of the controversies of the past few years.
International and Hells artists at the Beachclub
Oliver Primeau, a true marketing genius, has attracted renowned stars to his club. Among others, Flo Rida, Kylie Jenner, Dan Bilzerian, David Guetta and Sean Paul came to do their tour.
However, the presence of organized crime members like the Hells Angels at events has sometimes raised eyebrows with authorities.

The popularity of the site has also led to some slippages. Alcohol poisoning, fights, narcotics, drowning in the middle of a party and even a pedestrian fatally caught: the police have intervened in this kind of problematic situation over the years.
musical festivals
Olivier Primeau set up the Montreal festival Metro Metro in 2019, bringing other big names in music to Quebec. Last summer, however, the security surrounding the hip-hop festival was seriously flawed. Images of overflows, jostling and muscular arrests quickly made the rounds of social networks.
He is also behind several other successful music events as well as the Fuego Fuego Latin music festival.
Conflicts with the authorities
Local police, suppliers and $2.2M in unpaid taxes: the Beachclub experienced several financial problems after the pandemic. Olivier Primeau notably had to shelter a subsidiary from creditors. In another dispute, he settled with the Régie de police du lac des Deux-Montagnes, which claimed nearly $250,000 from him in a lawsuit for security costs incurred during a private event.

Fast food and alcohol
In 2018, the 30-year-old launched the famous alcoholic drink Beach Day Every Day. He is also co-founder of the Slice Gang, in Sainte-Thérèse, which serves New York style pizza, as well as co-owner of several other restaurants. Then, he made people talk about him by selling a frozen poutine.
He bets on blue gold
For $ 3 million, Olivier Primeau got his hands in 2022 on a third of the volume of groundwater in the province currently under permit, alerting the government to the issue concerning the privatization of water in Quebec.
