“Indonesian Badminton Team Leaves for 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh on PBSI’s 72nd Anniversary”

BOLASPORT.COM – The Indonesian badminton team left for Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on the 72nd Birthday of PBSI, Friday (5/5/2023) morning.

This team will take part in the 2023 SEA Games which will be held on May 8-16 at the Morodok Techo Badminton Hall.

The manager of the Indonesian badminton team, Eddy Prayitno said that the spirit of PBSI’s 72nd anniversary was an injection of motivation for the athletes to make Indonesia proud.

“Today we are leaving for Cambodia to coincide with PBSI’s 72nd anniversary. This is the motivation for the children to make the name of the Indonesian people proud,” said Eddy as quoted by BolaSport.com from PBSI.

“We ask for the prayers and support of the Indonesian people so that this team is given smoothness and health from start to finish. Also able to give the best performance for all of us to be proud of,” said Eddy.

However, Indonesia’s strength is certain to decrease, especially in the men’s team. Shesar Hiren Rhustavito suffered a left calf injury in the last training session on Thursday (4/5/2023) yesterday.

“Vito (Shesar’s nickname) we canceled his participation because in the last training session he injured his left calf,” said Rionny Mainaky, Head of Binpres PP PBSI.

“Yesterday it was immediately followed up with a referral to the hospital and an MRI. The results will only be seen today. Hopefully it’s not serious but indeed competing in the SEA Games is not possible,” said Rionny.

According to Rionny, Vito’s absence has reduced the team’s strength, but that doesn’t mean that the best results cannot be achieved.
