The first Mortal Kombat was the most-streamed movie of all the films that HBO Max released in theaters and on streaming at the same time in 2021, solidifying its place as a cultural phenomenon. Fans were disappointed not to see Johnny Cage in the first installment, but with Urban now on board for the sequel, anticipation is higher than ever. The role was previously eyed by WWE superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, but today’s news confirms Urban’s casting.
