“We Continue the Change: Updates on the Efforts to Unblock the 49th National Assembly”

We are in a very difficult situation. I am very glad that our colleagues from the PP-DB made enormous efforts to unblock the work of the 49th National Assembly. We had a constructive conversation between the first two political forces. This was stated by Lena Borislavova from We continue the change in the program “Face to Face” on BTV.

“Many key steps have already been taken to make the NS operational. We propose that the commissions have chairmen, to follow the model that existed until now, with the exception of the legal commission, where the chairperson is changed on a rotating basis. We cannot allow any more delays in the work process,” she stressed.

The former spokesman of the cabinet “Petkov” once again confirmed his position to leave the parliament as a representative of the people. She admitted that the reason for her departure was related to the preparations for the local elections, where there are many important decisions to be made. According to I, the negotiations with “Save Sofia” are going well. She emphasized that, in addition to winning the elections, there should also be ready solutions for the coming days.

“We are not running away from a management program. If the colleagues from GERB have any new proposals on the management program to enter, we are ready to discuss them, to do the best things so that Bulgaria can move forward. Bulgaria needs to detach itself from this timelessness. We invited colleagues from GERB to distribute the commissions. So far there is no agreement on the commissions. Our NA is not working because we do not have consent. Therefore, we invited the colleagues to new talks to continue our work. If they have any problems, let them come and discuss them in a professional tone,” urged Lena Borislavova.

“Our big mistake was that we did not get the signatures of GERB representatives for the management program. From the very beginning, we have not misled our colleagues, we have clearly stated our position. We don’t play political poker and we don’t screw each other up. The formula we see for a working government is a minority cabinet with the support of the other political forces and GERB.

“They wanted experts in the cabinet and we offered them. There are people from Democratic Bulgaria in it. The office is full of people who have stood with their faces. This is the cabinet that we believe can implement the priorities that we propose,” she explained.

Borisolavova commented on today’s position of the leader of GERB, who warned that the state is flying towards an abyss. “I see that there is quite a large amount of nervousness in Mr. Borisov. Exactly what formula does he offer? Who will be these individuals who will be such unsullied, pure and undisputed authorities who, against the background of a foreign program, will govern with the support of individuals from the “Magnitsky” list? Now it’s the turn of the first to show.”

“We have made it very clear where we stand. We don’t play political poker. We do not change our positions. With GERD, we have a basic lack of trust and fundamental differences. One can work with people who constantly change their positions. They cannot like our program on the first day, not on the second, and give it to the BSP on the third. It is very difficult to work in such an environment,” admitted Borislavova.

Lena Borislavova was adamant that their coalition with DB is united. “Many of our sympathizers may reproach us for revealing our program before the first term was handed over. But this is how we show that we are open. There is no right move in the current situation. It is very difficult”.

She also commented on her doubts regarding the assassination attempt against the chief prosecutor. “I call for all versions to be investigated. I hope law enforcement does their job. I cannot understand how a person who did not take any investigative measures against people from the criminal world, but protected them, is now being attacked by them. So this is their guardian”, asks Borislavova.
