Italian Teen Electrocuted to Death in Bathtub While on Phone

Maria Antonietta Cutillo, a 16-year-old girl in Italy, took a bath at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd of this month while talking on the phone with her friends. Thinking of halfway through the call, she slipped her hand and let the phone “plop” into the bathtub, and was electrocuted to death.

According to the British “Daily Mail” report, Coutillo was taking a bath in the bathroom at around 7 o’clock that night, while talking on the phone with a friend. It is reported that Coutillo’s mobile phone was plugged into the charger at the time, so Coutillo took a bath while using the charging mobile phone. But then Coutillo accidentally dropped the phone and some charging equipment into the bathtub, and as a result, Coutillo was severely shocked on the spot.

The report pointed out that Coutillo’s friend who was on the call at the time heard Coutillo screaming, and the voice on the other end of the phone instantly disappeared. The friend found that something was wrong, so he called the police. When the police arrived at Coutillo’s home, they found that Coutillo was dead, and there were burn marks on one arm, so it was initially speculated that she had been electrocuted to death. In addition, the news also pointed out that only Coutillo was at home at the time of the incident, and her parents were out, so no one at home noticed the incident at the first time.
