VII Solidarity Race organized by Amuhcanma to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research

The Association of Women and Men Affected by Breast Cancer (Amuhcanma) organizes this Sunday the VII edition of his Solidarity Race, which will consist of two non-competitive tests of 5 and 10 kilometers. The children’s race will begin at 10:00 a.m. and the adults’ race will take place at 10:30 a.m. on an urban circuit in Port de Sagunt, starting and finishing at the Triángulo Umbral.

with more de 1,400 registrations, including row zerowhich already represents a record of participation, the president of the group, Consuelo Díaz, points out that “This year is special for us, because the association celebrates its tenth anniversaryso we have prepared the race with great enthusiasm”. The objective is to raise awareness among the population about the disease, raise funds for research and spend a morning of sports party and coexistence with friends and family.

Amuhcanma, as detailed, will donate the entire proceeds, as in previous editions, to the Incliva Foundation of the Clinical Hospital of Valencia and Fisabio of the Sagunt Hospital, both for their research work on breast cancer. During the presentation of the evidence, Díaz was accompanied by the mayor of Sagunt, Darío Moreno, who indicated that “they tries to be vindictive, but at the same time we do it in a happy and inclusive waythinking that absolutely everyone can join”.

The socialist emphasized that “breast cancer reaches the whole world. There are even men who suffer from this cancer, although it is also invisible”, for which reason, as he added, “days like this are essential, because we must talk about it to be able to dedicate the necessary resources to this problem. The associations always go one step further, to cover where the administrations are not reaching. The race points to it being a great success.”

For his part, the Councilor for Sports, Javier Timón, explained that “we are facing an event that combines two elements that are inseparable: physical activity and health, but also with a clear solidarity component“. The mayor especially congratulated the Amuhcanma board of directors “not only for organizing this magnificent event, but also for her extraordinary work and her collaboration with all those women who suffer from breast cancer“.

The presentation of the test was not lacking the Councilor for Sports of Canet d’en Berenguer, Felín Gómez, who collaborates with the test, as well as the Olympic marathon runner, Laura Méndez, who will not be able to participate in the race due to her calendar, but provides all your support to the event.
