In order to pass this year’s secondary school-leaving exam, you must take written exams in three compulsory subjects at the basic level, i.e. Polish, mathematics and a foreign language, oral exams in Polish and a modern foreign language (obtaining a minimum of 30%) and take a written exam from one additional subject at the advanced level.
In Lublin alone, over 4,200 students of Lublin’s secondary schools will take their final exams.

Students will do well at the final exams, say Polish language teachers from Lublin. From this year, the secondary school-leaving examination will adopt a new formula. High school graduates on the Polish language exam will be tasked with writing a synthesizing note.
“I did this exercise in the second grade, and the students generally did well. My students wrote a synthesizing note on the example of two fragments: Kijowski and Kapuściński about contemporary tourism. – says Grażyna Jaroszyńska from the Liceum Ogólnokształcące im. Jan Hetman Zamoyski in Lublin. —Note that the number of words has been increased compared to the abstract. It must contain at least sixty and not exceed ninety words.
To write a synthesizing note correctly, it should focus on the most important information contained in the text in relation to the topic contained in the command. It is necessary to describe the positions presented by both authors, and then compare them.
– The note is very schematic, I practiced it in class and I shouldn’t have much trouble writing it – says Filip from the senior class of III LO im. Union of Lublin in Lublin. – This is a typical matriculation statement, encountered during the exam, I do not think that I will be useful later. My Polish teacher says you have to learn it and then forget about it.
You can receive a maximum of four points for the correct writing of the notes at the final exams, three of them for the content, and one for stylistic, spelling and punctuation correctness.
Technical school students who have passed exams in all qualifications in a given profession do not have to take an exam in an additional subject at an advanced level, it is the student’s decision. In practice, depending on the choice of the future field of study, both high school and technical high school students additionally choose more than one subject that they will take at the advanced level.
