The tragic death of six-year-old Oliver Forde in a swimming pool at the Tullamore Court Hotel in Tullamore, Co Offaly, has left his family devastated. Despite the heartbreak, the Health and Safety Authority has requested a further six months to investigate the circumstances leading to Oliver’s untimely death. His mother, Nina Mahon, was visibly upset during a hearing at the Dublin District Coroner’s Court, but the coroner stressed the importance of allowing independent bodies like the HSA to conduct their investigations to ensure a fulsome picture is obtained. The inquest has been adjourned until November 1, and it is anticipated that the HSA will forward a file to the DPP in due course. The tragic loss of little Oliver has left his parents, Denis and Nina, and his brothers, Jack and Lucas, grieving the loss of a beloved son and sibling.
