Jesse Spencer is set to make a comeback in the highly anticipated Season 11 finale of Chicago Fire, but fans will have to accept the absence of Taylor Kinney’s Lieutenant Kelly Severide. According to TVLine, Kinney had to take a personal leave of absence, leaving Severide’s character to attend an arson investigation training program in Alabama, which was explained in the March 1 episode. On the other hand, Spencer previously reprised his role as Captain Matt Casey in Episode 18 last month, when he returned to Chicago to enlist Lieutenant Stella Kidd in a Department of Homeland Security task force against a potential domestic terror attack. Excitement is already building up for his second return in the season’s ender, where Kidd supposedly finds a new lead on the Homeland Security case. It’s worth noting that Spencer departed the show in the 200th episode back in October 2021 after nearly a decade of being a full-time cast member. His character moved to Oregon to care for his late best friend Andy Darden’s sons while keeping a long-distance relationship with Sylvie Brett. However, Casey hinted to Chief Boden during his visit last month that his time in Oregon might be up, opening up the possibility of a reunion with Brett. While Spencer didn’t rule out the idea of coming back full-time, he mentioned in a previous interview with TVLine that the storyline needs to make sense. Chicago Fire fans, brace yourselves and share your predictions for the finale!
