“Explore Mars with the Giant Mock-Up at the Planetarium in Halle”

If Elon Musk achieves his goals, humans should set foot on Mars by the end of 2029. Provided, of course, that he creates a spaceship that can take them there and bring them back to Earth. Starship after 4 minutes of flight began to spin uncontrollably and 6 of its engines failed, as a result of which the flight abort system was activated.

Mars is a dream destination for astronomers and science fiction fans alike. Probably no object in space excites the human imagination like the Red Planet. In May, it will be possible to see if the Red Planet thrills you as well. You will be able to visit it. As if.

Since a flight is currently not possible due to the lack of a suitable means of transport, the planetarium in Halle offers us a substitute for a space trip. The first attraction of this place to be made available was the giant Moon. Elements of our satellite, such as Tycho, the Apollo 11 landing site, and even its dark side, were perfectly presented on the huge mock-up.

The planetarium in Halle will present Mars

Halle is currently preparing for the arrival of Mars. Like the Moon, it comes from the studio of British artist Luke Jerram.

The diameter of the mock-up is seven meters and it makes a great impression when you stand directly under it, argue the originators. Images of the surface of the Red Planet come from NASA research. Each centimeter of the sculpture, illuminated specially from the inside, corresponds to ten kilometers of the surface of Mars.

Distinctive features such as craters, canyons and rover landing sites are displayed on the installation in high resolution. The circular mock-up gives visitors the opportunity to explore the surface in detail and imagine what it’s like to set foot on this amazing planet.

The exhibition, which can be seen from May 13 at the Planetarium in Halle, is part of the “Science Year 2023 – Our Universe”. The price of a ticket for an adult is 9 euros, so about 41 zlotys.
