Reddit has announced that it will enhance link embeds for messaging apps and add more sharing functions, including sharing content directly to Instagram stories from its app. For years, third-party Reddit client apps have built out better ways to share content, but these do not include a link for the recipient that encourages them to visit Reddit. Reddit’s new features built for its official mobile app on iOS and Android come as the world looks for the next best app to use as an information channel. Additionally, Reddit is releasing a new embedding toolbox to improve content publishing platforms. These developments follow Reddit’s recent extensive overhaul of how it allows outsiders to handle its data.
