Today, Monday, May 1, the city of Safi, like a number of Moroccan cities, is witnessing celebrations and demonstrations by workers as part of the commemoration of the International Day of the Working Class.
The demonstrations and marches of trade union organizations united around slogans denouncing the government’s policies, the high cost of living, and the consequent deterioration of social conditions, the suppression of the purchasing power of citizens, and the striking of the earnings of working people.
The labor marches witnessed a distinguished presence and weight of female workers, especially export workers who came in dozens to participate in the Labor Day demonstrations.
Participants chanted slogans such as, “The governments have walked away, and the situation is the same. And the children of the people you displaced them .. your children you healed them .. and our children you made them sick.
