The Memphis Grizzlies have made a decision to part ways with Dillon Brooks, a pending unrestricted free agent, according to reports from The Athletic’s Sham Charania. Brooks, who has spent his entire six-year career with the Grizzlies, was informed of the team’s decision during exit meetings this week, with Charania citing Brooks’ actions during the team’s first-round series loss against the Los Angeles Lakers as a catalyst for the decision. Despite several contract extension offers from the Grizzlies, Brooks rejected each one, leading to the end of negotiations. In the 2022-23 season, Brooks recorded an average of 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 73 games.
