Kevin Cullen, a 33-year-old man, has dedicated himself to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August to receive funds on behalf of the Irish Cancer Society. This fundraising effort is in honor of his fiancée, Aoife O’Donovan, who passed away from cervical cancer last year. Aoife was only 30, and before her passing, she was actively raising awareness for cervical cancer screenings. She had a fantastic career in environmental policy, and she loved adventure and traveling with Kevin. The couple met in Boston, moved around the world, and returned to Ireland in 2018. Aoife’s loss has been a difficult journey for Kevin, which he has channeled into raising awareness and funds for the Irish Cancer Society. He hopes that his support will help those experiencing symptoms related to cervical cancer receive appropriate screening. He is ready for the challenge ahead of him in Tanzania and is excited about it. To donate to this cause and support Kevin’s climb, you can follow the link to his GoFundMe page.
