Tchibanga, May 02, 2023 (AGP) – Like their colleagues from other provinces of the country, public and private officials from Tchibanga, the provincial capital of Nyanga (South), celebrated Labor Day in the governorate of Tchibanga, in the presence of Mrs. Nicole Nouhando, Governor of Nyanga and officials of the various local administrations.
Traditionally marked by the grand parade and speeches, including the reading of the manifesto, the 137th edition of Labor Day, with the generic theme ” Permanent social dialogue: a guarantee for decent work within the state apparatus“, was commemorated this year in a reduced format.
A joy all the same for the 24 recipients, after 2 years without festivities due to the Covid-19. The latter were decorated with the distinction of work, including a gold medal, 8 silver and 15 bronze.
In the only circumstantial address pronounced, after the minute of silence requested in memory of the workers called back to God, the provincial director of Labour, Sylvestre Ngouabe, first of all wished the most cordial welcome to the assistance.
Returning, then, to the genesis of this celebration, he reminded the recipients of the importance of the medal received, which constitutes the reward for their efforts, just as much as it honors the cardinal values which they have favored in all directions, but that they must share or pass on to young people, so that they can be their role models in their professional lives.
«Having a job today is very precious“, he underlined, in view of the high rate of unemployment which affects many Gabonese looking for a job.
