The competition took place on April 25th and had the participation of 160 athletes representing 8 clubs. The GCVR was represented by 26 athletes: Inês Carvalho, Mariana Carvalho, Maria Correia, Maria João Gomes, Carlota Cruz, Beatriz Igrejas, Benedita Fernandes, Maria Mesquita, Maria Mina, Diana Nogueira, Maria Poeta, Inês Silva, Inês Fernandes, Susana Carvalhinha , Tomás Fernandes, Francisco Igrejas, Sami Lodhia, Pedro Lopes, João Pedro Matias, Afonso Resende, Lucas Ribeiro, Eduardo Oliveira, Nuno Oliveira, Bruno Morais, Guilherme Guerra, Diogo Baptista.
The GCVR athletes had a good performance by recording 31 podiums (7 first place, 11 second and 13 third), which led to 3rd place by teams with a total of 58 points. There are also 26 personal records.
In the individual general classification, Maria Poeta in Infantis feminine reached 3rd place, with 1199 points, followed by Inês Fernandes with 1160 points and Maria Mesquita with 1099 points. Beatriz Igrejas was 5th in Juveniles feminine with 1331 points; Lucas Ribeiro was 4th in Men’s Children’s with 1265 points; Eduardo Oliveira was 9th in Men’s Juveniles with 1407 points.
In terms of podiums, Maria Mesquita (Infants) stood out, who won the 400 Free and 200 Styles, and was also 3rd in the 100 Free; Inês Carvalho (Cadets) won the 50 Costas and the 50 Mariposa; Maria Poeta (Infantis) won the 200 Backstroke and was 2nd in the 400 Freestyle and 100 Mariposa;
Lucas Ribeiro (Infants) won the 200 Style and was 2nd in the 400 Free and 200 Breaststroke; Eduardo Oliveira (Juveniles) won the 50 Free and was 2nd in the 100 Free.
Beatriz Igrejas (Juveniles) was 2nd in the 100 and 200 Mariposa, and 3rd in the 100 Livre; Inês Fernandes (Infants) was 2nd in the 50 freestyle and 3rd in the 200 breaststroke; Tomás Fernandes (Cadets) was 2nd in the 50 Free and 3rd in the 50 Mariposa.
According to the GCVR “the young swimmers had an interesting performance filled with good marks and which allows a very positive assessment of their evolution in the present season”.
In the II CPN Master Cidade de Ermesinde Tournament, the GCVR won 6 podiums.
In the competition participated 249 athletes representing 33 clubs. The GCVR was represented by eight athletes: Joana Carneiro, Gisela Pires, Sara Raimundo, Inês Ribeiro, Ana Batista, Nuno Camposana, Raul Pereira and Daniel Conceição. “The results were excellent with six podiums that led to 15th place by teams with a total of 4856 points”, considers the GCVR.
In terms of podiums, it should be highlighted: Gisela Pires (Master F) won the 50 Breaststroke and was 3rd in the 50 Free; Daniel Conceição (Master A) won the 100 Free; Joana Carneiro (Master D) was 2nd in the 50 Free and 50 Breaststroke and Raul Pereira (Master E) was 3rd in the 100 Free.
Other individual performances should also be highlighted: Inês Ribeiro (Master A) was 4th in the 50 Free and in the 50 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle; Sara Raimundo (Master B) was 4th in the 50 Breaststroke and 5th in the 50 Freestyle; Ana Baptista (Master B) was 4th in the 100 Free and 6th in the 50 Free; Nuno Camposana (Master C) was 4th in the 100 Free and 7th in the 50 Mariposa; Daniel Conceição (Master A) was also 5th in the 50 Costas; Raul Pereira (Master E) was also 5th in the 50 Costas. In terms of relays, the GCVR participated in Category 2, having won 5th place in the 4×50 Freestyle and 6th place in the 4×50 Freestyle.
