Feyenoord coach Arne Slot is in the picture as the new trainer Tottenham Hotspur. Slot, together with Julian Nagelsmann, fired from Bayern Munich, is in the race to find his way back up with Tottenham Hotspur. Sources report this to ESPN.
Interim coach at the Londoners Ryan Mason recently indicated his interest in taking over the baton permanently. The 31-year-old Englishman is the second interim coach after Antonio Conte was fired. After Conte, interim trainer Cristian Stellini was also quickly dismissed. Tottenham still has a lot to play for at the moment: the team is fighting with Liverpool for a Europa League ticket.
Foreign adventure
Slot recently joined Mirror Talk about a possible foreign adventure: “I think that at some point there will come a time when you as a trainer will also look abroad. It could of course be that that moment is already summer. There are always clubs that can pass that – if it’s up to me – you can’t say ‘no’ to.”
Leeds United hoped to take over Slot from Feyenoord during the winter break. The English low flyer, however, caught the eye of Slot: “I think Leeds is a very nice club. The moment in the middle of the season, where you still have so much to play for at Feyenoord, I didn’t think that was a good time to leave for England. The Premier League is, of course, the number one league in Europe. Although I also follow developments in Italy with great interest.”
