Camilla, Queen Consort: Her Royal Role and Her Family with Andrew Parker Bowles

Camilla, also known as the Queen Consort, was once viewed as a villain by the public due to her affair with the then Prince of Wales during his marriage to Diana. However, as she has established her own royal position and been accepted by the King’s family, public perception towards her has softened. Despite being known as the wife of the King and a future queen, her earlier life was spent outside of the royal family, including a previous marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles, a former British Army officer, with whom she had two children. Camilla is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and literacy charities, as well as domestic violence victims. She is valued for her cheerful and accommodating personality by royal reporters. Andrew Parker Bowles, also known as the “brigadier”, was married to Camilla for 22 years before their divorce in 1995. He is a retired army officer who served in the Royal Horse Guards and steadily climbed the military ranks. Parker Bowles briefly dated Princess Anne before marrying Camilla in a Catholic ceremony in 1973. They had two children, Tom and Laura, before ultimately divorcing. Tom Parker Bowles is currently a well-known food writer and critic, while Laura Lopes is a successful art curator who is also married with three children of her own. Camilla is a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren and enjoys playing word games with them.
