“Job Fair for Women: Breaking Barriers and Encouraging Economic Empowerment in Baja California”

With the purpose of include in the formal labor field all sectors that present more difficulties in obtaining employmentwas carried out Job Fair for Women in the facilities of the Justice Center for Women of the State of Baja California (CEJUM), in the city of Tijuana.

The governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, highlighted that this activity was carried out with an inclusive and egalitarian approach and with a gender perspective, with the aim of providing employment opportunities and, above all, economic independence to women who have experienced violence, as well as mothers, heads of family and those who work in the informal sector and are in search of opportunities for progress.

31 companies were present and offered a thousand job vacancies; In addition, a special module was installed to recruit those interested in participating in the Women at the Wheel Program and job vacancies were offered in the city of Quebec, Canada.

The director of CEJUM, Magdalena Bautista Ramírez, explained that they are convinced that the empowerment of women contributes to boosting economies and the sustainable development of communities, considering that women represent 50 percent of the population in Mexico and, therefore, therefore, 50 percent of its potential.

Consequently, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), headed by Secretary Alejandro Arregui Ibarra, together with the National Employment Service of Baja California (SNEBC), carried out the event in follow-up to the instruction of the governor Marina del Pilar, to incorporate Baja Californian women into formality.
