“Arrest Made in Bicycle Theft Investigation with Discovery of Weapons Cache”

A rifle, two shotguns and a pistol were found in a house that was raided in the context of the investigation of the theft of a bicycle. The investigations were carried out by members of the Eastern Criminal Investigations and Complex Crimes Unit.

As reported by Commissioner Raúl Herrera, the measures were executed on the afternoon of this Friday; The investigation begins after the report of the theft of a bicycle, which occurred on April 12 at 400 Independencia Avenue, in the city of Banda del Río Salí.

Herrera referred to the tasks carried out by a team from this Special Unit “after carrying out investigative tasks carried out for several days in the jurisdictional sphere; They yielded a fruitful result in that the identity of the alleged perpetrator of the act was established and the address and place where the stolen property would be found, requiring measures from the courts,” the commissioner said.

The raids took place in a building located in the El Palomar neighborhood, Banda del Río Salí, and in a house in Lastenia. It was at this address where investigators found: a 22-caliber semiautomatic rifle, a 16-gauge shotgun, a 36-caliber shotgun, a 22-caliber pistol, and more than 80 ammunition of various calibers.

The finding of this small arsenal was communicated to the Intervening Fiscal Unit and although no custodial measures were issued; if the seizure of weapons and ammunition was validated.
