Red Bull reigns supreme F1 GP Azerbaijan 2023. The two racers finished in front with Sergio Perez become a champion after defeating his teammate, Max Verstappen.
The 2023 Azerbaijan F1 GP will be held at the Baku Street Circuit on Sunday (30/4/2023) evening WIB. Perez shot from third on the grid to win the race by just two seconds from Verstappen crossing the finish line.
The Mexican racer overtook Verstappen in the opening phase after both drivers overtook Charles Leclrec, who started at the forefront. The defining moment came when Nyck de Vries was stopped in the eleventh round.
Verstappen then entered the pits to change tires, the safety car came out. Perez exited the pits ahead of Verstappen and Leclerc.
In the remaining races, Sergio Perez was able to keep his distance from Verstappen even though he was not far away. Perez ended up capturing his second win in the first four regular races of the 2023 season.
However, Max Verstappen is still entrenched at the top of the F1 2023 standings. The defending champion has collected 93 points, six points ahead of Perez below him.
Aston Martin racer Fernando Alonso is in third place with 60 points, 12 points ahead of Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton (4). Charles Leclerc, who completed the Azerbaijan podium, is still stuck in sixth place in the standings with 28 points, six points behind Carlos Sainz Jr.
The fifth series of F1 2023 will be held in Miami on May 7.
