Sinématiali, Apr 30, 2023 (AIP) – Cashew producers from the group of villages of Pegnankaha (10 km from Sinématiali) have been trained in good cashew nut processing practices.
The training took place on Friday, April 28, 2023 in Pegnakaha, during a group sale which recorded more than 13 tons of cashew nuts. The production was subjected to a second collective sorting, after detection of several malformed seeds that were unsuitable for sale in bags.
The field agent of the Cotton and Cashew Council of Sinématiali, Fofana Mawaa, encouraged the farmers to carry out better drying and sorting of the cashew nuts, in order to sell their productions easily while respecting the fixed farm gate price. at CFAF 315/kg.
The village chief of Pegnankaha, Yéo Golougo, underlined that quality production will be easily bought.
Cashew nut producer in Pegnankaha, Soro Oumar admits that he did not meet the required quality standards. He called on his peers to submit to a second sorting, in order to encourage more and more buyers to come to the locality.
The training in good cashew conservation practices was improvised during a joint sale organized by the Cotton and Cashew Council for a good sale in Pegnankaha.
