Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev reached the third round of the ATP Masters tournament in Madrid.
The 29-year-old Russian, who made it to the main draw through qualification, beat the Dutchman Botik van de Zandshulp, the 29th racket of the world, in the second round with a score of 6:2, 7:5.
His next opponent will be the winner of the match Alex de Minaur (Australia) – Marco Cecchinato (Italy).

Karatsev, semi-finalist of the 2021 Australian Open, is now ranked 121st in the world rankings. He has three ATP titles to his credit. He won two consecutive matches in the main draw for the first time since the beginning of January, when he reached the semi-finals in Pune (India).
