Alessandro, manager of Corinthians, spoke about the club’s search for a new coach after the departure of Cuca, reinforcing the tranquility to find a name in the market. The leader’s response was given after the defeat in the Derby this Saturday, for the third round of the Brasileirão.
In the mixed zone, still at Allianz Parque, Alessandro stated that he still does not have a defined name to lead Corinthians, in addition to having ruled out a deadline for that to happen. The professional chose to leave Danilo in charge of the professional until the definition of the next name.
“We don’t have any confirmation from the coach to do. We keep working and analyzing all our possibilities. I know that many names are aired in different ways, it’s natural, it’s the greatness of the club. We know the importance of deciding the technical command for such important games that we have in the following competitions, but we also cannot make any move in a hurry so that later it does not cost us a new change. So, we are analyzing it calmly to make the best possible choice”, said the former footballer.
“Deadline in football is difficult, because we say one thing today and tomorrow it can change. I know that our coach has high expectations, but we cannot set a deadline and then not meet it. We are currently working on resolving this issue. Today, Danilo, our Under-20 coach, led a very difficult game and we are very grateful. Tuesday, if we don’t define it, there’s a chance he’ll be there again, ”he continued.
Alessandro also did not want to define a profile for the new captain of Timão. When asked about the topic, he said that each one has a characteristic, spoke about not prioritizing Brazilian technicians and mentioned the preference for a professional with a winning record.
“Let’s not talk about the profile, shall we? Each coach has a profile, a characteristic. These two (Tite and Mano) are identified with the club, but there are others who did not play for the club. So, the best feature is the coach who arrives to bring victories, which is what we need to have peace in the season”, said the manager.
“It could be Brazilian, it could be foreign… You’ve never seen so many foreign coaches working in Brazil, but we respect Brazilians and who are capable of coaching Corinthians […] Corinthians requires this (victorious coach). Cuca, for example, arrived here with this characteristic, winner, champion. It is the ideal and what Corinthians would like to find ”, he concluded.
Look for Tite and Mano
Alessandro also commented on the rumors that have been circulating about Mano and Tite at Corinthians. The leader, however, denied the search for both coaches and explained the situation of each of them at the moment.
“We don’t look. We talked at other times, not these last few days. Mano is working, Tite has a professional project, which he has already passed on to you, it doesn’t seem to be Brazil right now. We have a lot of respect for professional definitions. We need to work on other possibilities, ”he said.
