Libreville, April 29, 2023 (AGP) – On the occasion of its 3rd anniversary, the program “I declare”, in collaboration with the center “Tous differs”, organized this Saturday, April 29, in Libreville, a recreational and a conference-debate in favor of autistic children, under the theme: “ What future for children with special educational needs?« .
Developing this theme, the director of the “All different” center, Jean Richard Obame Ndong, indicated that this reception center registers a good number of children with Down’s syndrome, autism, intellectual disabilities, as well as children who have school delay.
«The number of children in this establishment is 140. And they are accompanied by a multidisciplinary team in which we find speech therapists, clinical psychologists, specialized educators and many other specialists“, he said.
For the organizers, the major problem at present is that of the integration of different children into companies.
«It’s not easy, we approached the authorities to raise the problem. These children, arrived at a certain age and after the baccalaureate where will they go? We have been told that there will be training in the economic zone of Nkok and we are on it and we are waiting”he worried.
For the President of the Observatory of the Rights of Social Insured Persons in Gabon, the sum of 50,000 CFA francs allocated by the Pensions and Family Benefits Fund for State Agents (CPPF) is insufficient when it comes to taking support these difficult children.
«The battle is to get the authorities to take a look at these children. We have to convince them by submitting more than 1,000 benefit files to the CPPF, they will become aware of the existence of these cases”explained Albert Mezui Ndong.
This event took place, thanks to the assistance of Loriane Thérèse Oye Menzeing, presenter of a Christian program. “I declare” broadcast live every Saturday from 8 a.m. on the social network Facebook. And to celebrate the 3 years of this show, she decided to help autistic children.
«I had received this recommendation from God to pray for Gabon and the families during the Covid-19 period in 2020, which is the start of everything. And for this 3rd year, God asked me to help autistic children. I want people to realize that there are children with autism or Down’s syndrome because there are a lot of them. My objective is to give these children the strength to realize that their handicap is not a blockage. Because it is possible that they become autonomous and that they are no longer ashamed to show themselves“, she said.
