The launch of Jedi Survivor has turned into a real technical disaster. EA and Respawn have to help out with a huge patch.

Hamburg – Thousands of gamers are becoming lightsaber-wielding rebels again these days, the eagerly awaited Jedi Survivor is celebrating its release. The press is celebrating the new action-adventure game from the Star Wars universe, but the picture is different for fans. Whether PS5, Xbox Series X or PC, Jedi Survivor struggles with severe bugs and performance problems on all platforms. A day one patch is supposed to help, but its size should bring some hard drives to their knees.

Jedi Survivor: Release with bugs and weak PC performance – Day One Patch should help

Review of the release: Actually, Jedi Survivor cuts a really good figure for the release. The reviews of the press praise the game in a tour, with Metacritic it sits at an average of 86/100 points. But not everything is in line with the Force, with numerous fans Jedi Survivor does not make a good first impression. Various gamers on Twitter and Reddit report bugs on every platform, performance on the PC is said to be poorly optimized.

YouTuber SkillUp said that even an RTX4090 couldn’t provide a stable 60 FPS – with a 2090TI not even 40 FPS are possible. On the consoles, however, many fans have problems with HDR and an audio bug that is supposed to ruin almost all cutscenes. Fortunately, EA and developer Respawn Entertainment are already submitting a Day One patch after a Day Zero update, which is intended to fix the worst bugs and improve performance.

This is the size of the Day One patch: Relatively problem-free gaming, however, takes its toll. In the case of Jedi Survivor, this is paid for in the form of disk space. First reports show that Jedi Survivor has to download another 120 GB of updates on the PC alone. The patches for the release are almost as big as the game itself, you can find out more about the Jedi Survivor download sizes in our article.

So if you want to play Jedi Survivor in a reasonably stable state, you can look forward to downloads the size of a season update in Warzone 2.

Jedi Survivor: Day One Patch is supposed to fix the worst bugs – that’s what the patch notes say

The Day One Patch fixes this: After all, the big download should ensure that the worst blunders of Jedi Survivor should be ironed out. Unfortunately there are no detailed patch notes, but EA specifies these fixes for the Day One Patch:

  • Diverse Bug Fixes
  • Fixed game crash issues
  • Fixed stuttering/lag issues
  • Added various options for gameplay optimization and accessibility

EA also announced on Twitter that it would be submitting further fixes and patches in the coming weeks. So it won’t be the end of the patch wave for a long time, one can only hope for the home hard drives that they won’t all be such thick 120 GB chunks.
