“Ganjar Pranowo Receives Warm Welcome in Banten with Calls for Presidency”

Jakarta

Thousands of scholars and residents of Lebak, Banten welcomed the arrival of Ganjar Pranowo. Shouts of ‘Ganjar President’ echoed in every location Ganjar visited.

Initially, Ganjar came to the Multatuli Museum. Accompanied by Rano Karno, Ganjar walked around the museum while greeting people who were traveling with their families. His arrival caused a stir among the people who immediately flocked to shake hands and ask for a group photo.

“Wow, my presidential candidate has arrived. Mr. Ganjar, welcome to Banten. Sir, I want a photo, sir,” said one resident in a written statement, Saturday (29/4/2023).

A similar scene occurred when Ganjar attended a halal bihalal event for clerics and leaders of Islamic boarding schools throughout Banten Raya in Warunggunung, Lebak, Banten. There, Ganjar was greeted with joy by thousands of clerics and leaders of Islamic boarding schools.

Salawat chants accompany the arrival of Ganjar Pranowo while attending the halal bihalal event. Shouts of ‘Reward the President’ occasionally burst into the crowd.

“Ganjar President. Our prayers are with you. Long live Pak Ganjar,” they shouted in unison.

Thousands of clerics and leaders of Islamic boarding schools from Lebak, Pandeglang and Bogor gathered in Lebak to take part in the halal bihalal event with Ganjar. They are willing to come all the way to meet and shake hands with Ganjar.

Some came from Pandeglang, Bogor and Lebak. There were also those who were willing to travel 98 km to meet Ganjar at the event.

“I came from the outskirts of Banten, about 98 km away to meet Pak Ganjar,” said one of the clerics, Kyai Dedy.

While in Banten, Ganjar greeted the people who were there friendly. He always stops when there are residents who bring small children. Ganjar’s chats and jokes with the children made the atmosphere even warmer.

“What’s your name? What grade? Let’s take a photo together. His teeth are toothless, eaten by rats,” added Ganjar.

Ganjar expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the people and scholars of Banten to him.

“I am certainly happy and grateful for being able to be present among the clergy and the community in Banten. Some time ago I went to Banten and had a friendly visit with the Bedouins. This time, thank God, I can greet Banten residents again,” he said.
