A few days before the start of the transfer window, Verva announced the signing of a high-profile reinforcement. Striker David Kaše is heading to the north of Bohemia, the club announced this on its Facebook page.

The move of the 26-year-old Šikula to the Ore Mountains has been talked about for a long time, on hokej.cz we wrote about the upcoming agreement for the first time back in February.

So far, Litvínov is more likely to count losses: there should be several mainstays on the way out, including Patrik Zdráhal or Giorgio Estephan.

CEO Pavel Hynek is therefore looking for new players with a difference. He should be one of them

On the roster, he will be among other hockey players with a Spartan past, captain Matúš Sukeľ and shooter Andrej Kudrna also played in the capital before.

A crucial task for his next engagement? Stay healthy. During last year, he struggled with health problems and ended up making only 31 starts.

In addition, the Prague team often relied on other players in the attack, Kaše’s ice time significantly decreased compared to before. Especially in the final phase of the season, he showed that he can stand out in the extra league.

And maybe to attract the attention of national team coaches again. The creative playmaker spent nearly three years trying to make his way into the lineup of Philadelphia, which selected him in the fifth round of the draft eight years ago.

During that time, he had a sniff at the most famous competition in the world seven times, otherwise he worked mainly on the farm in the AHL. From overseas, he guested in Karlovy Vary for several months, also defended the colors of Chomutov and tried out the Swedish league.

Now he will expand his hockey resume with another North Bohemian stint. And beware, according to behind-the-scenes information, the chemists are also stringing along his older brother Ondřej.

However, health is the main question mark here. The former Anaheim or Boston player is suffering from the effects of concussions and has played only one game for Carolina since October. Will he and his sibling play together in black and yellow?

“My dad is also a goalkeeper, but in football, so maybe I inherited something from him,” says the talented goalkeeper of HC VERVA Litvínov in a comprehensive interview ?
