EVIL DEAD RISE
ATTENTION -> FSK from 18
Beth (Lily Sullivan) travels to Los Angeles to visit her older sister Ellie (Alyssa Sutherland). Once there, she joyfully meets Ellie’s three children. However, the totally neglected apartment, but also a strange book that was hidden in the walls of the building, cause her great concern. What she didn’t know at the time: It was the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, or in other words the Book of the Dead, which conjures up evil and unleashes demons on the inhabitants. From now on, Beth and Ellie are confronted with their worst nightmares, which manifest themselves as so-called deadites. The beings who feast on the souls of living creatures demand everything of women. But that’s not all: When the point comes at which both sisters fall out, Beth has to overcome all her limitations in order to protect herself and the children.
In FILMKUNSTTAG on Monday: “Traingle of Sadness “ + the short film “GLITCHIG” by Jan Becker in the opening act
FSK released from 12
The young male model Carl (Harris Dickinson) and the successful influencer Yaya (Charlbi Dean Kriek), in whose relationship there is a little crisis, are used to marketing their luxury life on Instagram. When they are invited on a cruise for the super-rich, they are able to combine relaxation and work perfectly – after all, lounging on the sun deck with a glass of champagne is absolutely social media-friendly. Behind the scenes, however, things are far less paradisiacal. While the perpetually drunk, Marxist captain (Woody Harrelson) locks himself in his cabin, the crew, led by their perfectionist boss Paula (Vicki Berlin), tries to fulfill even the most absurd wishes of the spoiled guests. When the obligatory captain’s dinner, to which the captain finally agrees, takes place during a storm, of all things, things get completely out of hand.
