A Léger survey conducted on behalf of the Réseau pour un Québec Famille (RPQF) in collaboration with the Partnership family in motion of the INRS, shows that academic success is at the heart of the concerns of Quebec parents when it comes to the work of children from 12 to 16 years old.
The number of hours worked during the school year is the main concern of 46% of parents, while work-study balance for children is cited by 35% and working hours by 27%.
The parents surveyed report that 4% of children aged 12 to 16 work to contribute to the family income, a proportion that rises to 18% for families with three or more children.
