As part of the eRobota project, more than 4,000 grants for the development of entrepreneurship were issued to Ukrainians for a total amount of UAH 2.4 billion. This was reported by the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko, reports Government portal.
“ERobota grant programs introduced by the Government in the summer of last year are in great demand among Ukrainians. To date, more than 4,000 entrepreneurs have received financial support in the form of grants for business start-up and expansion for a total amount of UAH 2.4 billion. With these funds, hundreds of new enterprises have already been opened, the volume of processing and production of finished products is increasing, and several hundred hectares of gardens have been planted. Thousands of Ukrainians got jobs at these enterprises. Grants from the state are investments in the development of entrepreneurship in general and individual industries, creation of new jobs and strengthening of the country’s economic front,” said Yuliya Svyridenko.
In general, since the start of the project, there is work in July 2022:
- under the “Own business” program – 3,727 micro-grants for UAH 876 million were issued;
- for the development of processing enterprises – 239 grants for UAH 1.3 billion were issued;
- for horticulture – 74 grants for UAH 152 million were issued;
- for the development of greenhouse farming – 10 grants for UAH 51 million were issued.
Both active entrepreneurs and people with no business experience can apply for a grant. Applications are submitted through the Diya portal together with a business plan. A mandatory condition for receiving a grant is the creation of new jobs – from 1-2 when providing a micro-grant to several dozen when providing grants under other programs. Grant funds are returned to the state in the form of taxes and fees paid in the course of the enterprise’s activity over a period of three years.
As a reminder, the eRobota project was introduced by the Government in July 2022 to provide business support and stimulate the creation of new jobs. It includes several grant programs. In particular, these are micro-grant programs for opening or developing one’s own business, grants for the creation and development of processing enterprises, planting a garden and viticulture, and greenhouse farming.
