Gerindra Party Chairman Prabowo Subianto Leads Survey for 2024 Presidential Candidate Electability

Chairman of the Gerindra Party Prabowo Subianto superior to two other strong candidates in the results of a survey by the Poltracking Indonesia agency regarding the electability of the 2024 presidential candidate. Gerinda Party seeing Prabowo as superior from another name because of his hard work and close relationship with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

“We appreciate the results of the Poltracking survey which show Pak Prabowo’s superiority as a presidential candidate. We see that Pak Prabowo’s high electability is the result of his hard work in the cabinet and Pak Prabowo’s closeness to President Jokowi,” Gerindra Party Waketum Habiburokhman told reporters, Friday (28/4) /2023).

According to Gerindra, Prabowo is considered to be continuing the development of the current government. On the other hand, Prabowo is considered to have had an impact on the international scene representing Indonesia.

“It seems that the public considers Pak Prabowo to be a committed figure and capable of continuing the legacy or achievements of the current government,” said Habiburokhman.

“The public also sees Pak Prabowo as a solid figure as Indonesia’s leader in the international world, this is related to heated global politics such as the Russia-Ukraine war, US-China tensions, etc,” he added.

The survey institute Poltracking Indonesia previously released the results of a survey regarding the electability of the 2024 presidential candidate. Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto is superior to two other strong candidates, namely Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan. Prabowo’s advantage is getting thicker in the simulation of 3 presidential candidates.

Poltracking stated that this survey was conducted in the period February, March, April 2023. The survey was conducted using the multistage random sampling method involving 1,220 respondents who are citizens with the right to vote, aged 17 years and over, or are married. The survey’s margin of error is +- 2.9% with a 95% confidence level. The survey was conducted face to face.

The survey begins with a simulation of 20 names of presidential candidates. Respondents were initially asked ‘Among the following presidential candidates, who would you vote for in the 2024 Presidential Election?’. As a result, Prabowo was at the top of the list chosen by respondents with 28.8%, followed by Ganjar 27.5% and Anies Baswedan 19.3%.
