A vigil was held in Strabane to honor three family members who tragically lost their lives in a road collision in Co Tyrone. The victims, brother and sister Dan and Christine McKane, along with their aunt Julia McSorley, were traveling home after attending a funeral in England when their minivan collided with a lorry near Aughnacloy early Thursday morning. The incident has prompted calls for the A5 road to be upgraded and made safer. The community gathered at Our Lady’s Grotto in Strabane to show support and remember the victims, lighting a candle for each of them. Those in attendance, including friends and relatives of the deceased, observed a moment of silence during the vigil. Father Declan Boland expressed condolences on behalf of the community and requested prayers for the four other members of the family who were injured in the crash.
