TEMPO.CO, Solo – Wali Kota Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka has given directions to Jokowi’s volunteers regarding support for the presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election, which narrows down to a number of names. But he confirmed the name Anies Baswedan not included in it.
President Jokowi’s eldest son even confirmed that he had chosen a name, although he is still keeping it a secret.
“Wait a minute, there will be the next meeting. We fixWhose name is it, in fact the name already exists. But it’s a secret,” said Gibran when met by media crew after giving directions in a meeting with Jokowi volunteers at the Solo Mayor’s Office, Loji Gandrung, Friday, April 28, 2023.
Regarding the name Anies Baswedan, Gibran firmly said that it was not included in his directives.
“(Is Pak Anies’ name included in the directive?) No,” answered Gibran
When pressed by a number of names who would receive this support, Gibran said that the public should wait first because after the meeting with Jokowi’s volunteers this Friday afternoon, there will be another meeting to determine one name that will receive this support.
However, when the names Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto were mentioned, Gibran did not deny this. “(Does the narrowing of the names include Pak Ganjar Pranowo and Pak Prabowo Subianto?) Nggih. Wis, wis is clear, right? (Yes. It’s clear, isn’t it?)” said Gibran.
On the other hand, currently Jokowi’s volunteers are still waiting for an official statement from Jokowi regarding support for the presidential candidate.
The chairman of Sapu Lidi Nusantara, Ahmad Badruttamam, likens the combination Jokowi volunteer as a large ship waiting for instructions from its commander.
“Because this volunteer is a big ship, if you want to direct this ship to where only Pak Jokowi will be able to direct it, we as volunteers for this big ship want to be directed and to whom we will dock,” said Ahmad.
According to Ahmad, in determining who will be Jokowi’s successor, he will not be careless.
“Obviously Mr. Jokowi will not be careless, Mr. Jokowi will obviously look for and also see which figure will be able to continue his programs, whether Mr. Ganjar, whether Mr. Prabowo or is there another candidate who is a dark horse. We as volunteers have been obedient , submissive, and loyal to Pak Jokowi can only wait,” he said.
