The representatives of the Jonava district municipality congratulated the district doctors, nurses, and all health professionals on Medical Workers’ Day, the municipality reports.
During the festive event, Jonava’s medical worker of the year was also announced at Jonava’s cultural center – Valentina Cvetkova, family doctor of Jonava’s primary health care center.
In the competition organized for the first time, nominations were offered by all residents of the Jonava district. V. Cvetkova, who was nominated for sincerity, care, benevolence and dedication to work, received the most votes from the population.
Council member Birutė Gailienė conveyed the thanks and congratulations of mayor Mindaugas Sinkevičius to the winner of the competition and other district doctors, the medical workers were congratulated by Seimas member Eugenijus Sabutis, and council member Birutė Platkauskienė.
“Thank you for choosing the noble profession of a doctor, for being a part of our district community, and thanks to you, we can provide the residents of Jonava with a wide range of health support services at the highest level,” B. Gailienė thanked the doctors.
As the event continued, a group of medical workers were also awarded with the thanks of the mayor of Jonava district.
Angelė Jurgita Stankė, a medical doctor at the Jonava Hospital, head of the Reception – emergency department, was awarded with the mayor’s thanks for coordinating the work of the department, mastering new technologies, diligence and responsibility.
Daiva Budrienė, internal medicine doctor, head of the Consultation Polyclinic, was honored for coordinating the work of the polyclinic, ensuring smooth patient registration, and implementing new technologies.
Vida Lukminienė, head nurse of the Orthopedic Traumatology Department, Anatolija Lilienė, general practice nurse in the Nursing and Supportive Treatment Department, and Irena Pleskienė, nurse’s assistant in the Therapy Department, were awarded for their care and love for patients.
Janina Stankevičienė, head of the Food Preparation Department, received thanks for her long-term dedication to work, the production of delicious food and her creativity.

Vilma Pagirskienė, a long-time employee of Jonava’s emergency medical station, head of the nursing department, was honored for bringing together all GMP doctors for productive work.
At the celebration, a young employee of the team, health care specialist Viktorija Zeltinytė, who has already distinguished herself with her professionalism, was noticed and encouraged, and the paramedic of the institution, the driver of the GPM car, Aivaras Zabarauskas, was awarded for the fact that he raised a high bar of professionalism for other paramedics of the institution.
Leonarda Savickienė, a public health specialist at the Jonava Public Health Office, was honored and awarded on the occasion of Medical Workers’ Day.
Earlier this week, as Medical Workers’ Day approached, all residents of the Jonava district also had the opportunity to thank the medical workers of the district for their work and dedication.
