The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, announced that every last policeman will be used to reinforce security in the streets of the country, in a frontal fight against delinquency and criminality. During the incorporation ceremony of 3,500 new police officers for citizen security in the city of Lima, he indicated that this new contingent will carry out patrol, intelligence and crime prevention tasks.

“I have commissioned the minister [Vicente Romero] and the Commander General of the National Police [Jorge Angulo] carry out a comprehensive evaluation of personnel who are not dedicated to patrol tasks and directly combat crime, in order to use every last police officer to reinforce security on the streets“, he assured.
In this regard, he said that the presence of a greater number of police officers on the streets will allow us to continue protecting and defending citizens, in order to guarantee security in the areas with the highest crime rate, “which will also be done throughout the country.”
“We will have more police on the streets, protecting and defending, as appropriate, our citizens, in order to guarantee a much more effective presence, above all, in the areas with the highest criminal incidence in the capital”, emphasized the head of state.

“I ratify my full support for the National Police, a guardian, self-sacrificing and professional institution, always willing to work for the country. My government will continue to strengthen this institution by providing them with more resources and tools so that they can efficiently fulfill their mission,” he assured.
