While food inflation (including alcoholic beverages) has risen sharply over the past year, it is now down very slightly. It still reached 16.64% in April, against 17.02% in March. The contribution of food products to inflation is currently 3.19 percentage points. Core inflation, which does not take into account the evolution of the prices of energy products and unprocessed food products, stood at 8.28% in April, against 8.57% in March. Here too, the indicator is therefore down.
The main price increases recorded this month were for fuels, vegetables, fruits, meat, liquid fuels and hotel rooms. Conversely, electricity, natural gas and travel abroad and city trips, on the other hand, exerted a downward effect on the index.
