Ndjolé, April 26, 2023 (AGP) – The Rail Transport Regulatory Authority (Artef), and the Transgabonais Operating Company (Setrag), proceeded, this Wednesday, April 26 in Ndjolé, the capital of the department of Abanga-Bigné in the province of Moyen-Ogooué (center), at the launch of the 5th edition of the awareness campaign on railway safety, under the theme “near the railway line and its outbuildings, remain vigilant for your safety».
In its fifth edition this year, the awareness campaign on rail safety was officially launched on Wednesday in Ndjolé, the capital of the department of Abanga-Bigné, in the south-east of the province of Moyen-Ogooué.
Placed under the supervision of the Rail Transport Regulatory Authority (Artef), and the Transgabonais Operating Company (Setrag), the said campaign, scheduled to end on May 24, saw the presence of the representative of the two railway entities, Alain Dorothée Bilie-Bi-Nzoghe, in addition to administrative and academic authorities, including the local prefect, Justine Loumby Mpiga, and the director of the Setrag public school, Bruce Gaspard Mahounda Latemba.
Over a period of one month, this campaign aims to bring as many people as possible, including the populations close to the right-of-way of the railway line, and the administrations working in the railway areas, to really become aware of the dangers that exist all along the passage of the trains.
“We are targeting schools, public and private administrations, located within a territorial perimeter of stations and neighboring communities. Through this campaign, in the form of community outreach sections, will run until May 24, 2023,” a declaredAlain Dorothée Bilie-Bi-Nzoghe, from the Coordex Setrag of Ndjolé.
Honored to host the launch of this campaign, the director of the public school of Ndjolé did not fail to encourage the two entities for this beneficial initiative for young learners.
«We congratulate you on the renewal of the commitments made, mainly in the direction of safety, through the various awareness campaigns that you are carrying out on railway safety throughout the railway. This new campaign, which has a broader connotation, does not only concern learners, but also all individuals who would covet the surroundings of the railway line”, entrusted Bruce Gaspard Mahounda Latemba, to the initiators of the project.
A capital action also welcomed by the prefect of the department of Abanga-Bigné, Rosine Loumby Mpiga, for whom this awareness campaign has all its meaning.
Especially in the context of the protection of adults and children. The latter who, on the sidelines of this operation, received from the hands of the authority, supplies given to learners of the public school of Setrag.
