A soldier shot himself in the foot on Thursday morning at the Garrison in Porsanger. The soldier must be fine under the circumstances.
The police refer to the case as an occupational accident
– The soldier is being looked after by the healthcare system, and the police are investigating the case, the police wrote on Twitter at 10.27am on Thursday.
Operations manager Theodor Weberg-Ellingsen says VG that they received a message from the Armed Forces about the incident at 9.30 on Thursday.
– According to the conditions, the soldier should be fine, but his health is taken care of, says the operations manager.
Porsangmoen is located just two miles south of Lakselv in Troms and Finnmark county.
