Manchester United are apparently preparing for the event that David de Gea does not extend his expiring contract after all. As Croatian ‘Sportske Novosti’ reports, the Red Devils are ready to withdraw the release clause from Dinamo Zagreb number one Dominik Livakovic. The 28-year-old national goalkeeper can leave Zagreb for ten million euros via an opt-out clause. Livakovic is only contractually bound until 2024 and is hesitant to extend it.
At United, the 1.88 meter tall right foot should get a whopping salary increase. Should de Gea say goodbye to Manchester after a total of twelve years, Livakovic would be planned as number one. Recently it was said that the forthcoming agreement between United and de Gea could still tip over. The 32-year-old Spaniard made a huge blunder against Sevilla in the Europa League and thus played a part in the elimination in the quarter finals.
